Hello all, Dave Shumway here. I am a professional photographer located in Billings, MT and I have been making trips to Yellowstone National Park each month of the year for the past five years.
I thought I would start off the photo blog with a journey through the first half of this year. January 2011:

A ruffed grouse forages in deep snow amidst a January snow storm in Yellowstone National Park. Created with a Canon 7D and a 70-200/2.8L IS II + 2.0 TC III set in aperture priority mode with an exposure bias of +2 set to f/7.1, ISO 400, and 1/160th of a second. Mounted on a Gitzo 3540XLS with an Induro GHB2 gimbal head.

A red fox runs down a snow covered hill during a January snow storm in Yellowstone National Park. Created with a Canon 7D and a 500/4.0L IS set in aperture priority mode with an exposure bias of +2 set to f/5.6, ISO 200, and 1/400th of a second. Mounted on a Gitzo 3540XLS with an Induro GHB2 gimbal head.

Photographer, Dave Shumway, digs out a platform to set up his tent during a January snow storm in Yellowstone National Park. Created by merging 18 images captured with a Canon 5D II and a 17-40/4.0L set in manual mode to f/11, ISO 100, and 30 seconds. Mounted on an Induro CT214 with an Acratech GP ball head. The 30 second exposure time of each of the 18 captures caused the light from the headlamp to transform into streaks of light.

Dave, I CANT wait to see the other half of 2011 in pictures!!!
