Here’s a shot of the sunrise yesterday in Yellowstone National Park. For this picture I’m looking out over Yellowstone Lake with some thermal activity going on in the foreground.
The clouds look much more ominous than what we’ve been seeing here. It cleared all away in about an hour and we went back to typical gorgeous summer with in Yellowstone.

Beautiful shot. Yellowsone is one of my favorite places!
Thank you, Edythe. Mine too!

Gorgeous shot. Will be there in two weeks. How cold is it in the morning? What thermal feature area was in the foreground here?
Thanks, Debbie. It’s in the low thirties in the mornings, which makes for some nice steam coming up off the rivers. This was at the West Thumb Geyser Basin.

Just got back from our trip – it was fabulous!!!!!
jazz – glad you had a great time! David
Is April too late to get any flowers in bloom or to early?
Hi Donna. It’s always different, but there is usually snow on the ground for much of April. Early June is probably safer for flower pictures. David
Hi there, I just read & looked at all of your pics. Stunning! We depart from Atlanta, GA for family reunion in Cody, 6/21-24th then heading into Yellowstone (2 nights a Jackson Lake Lodge) & then towards Tetons for beauty, to Gardiner & back to Billings to depart for home Thursday AM. Will be a short trip with much to see & I’ve made notes from your into & some other literature. There will be 5 adults in one vehicle & 4 adults in another. We are so excited & know it will be a trip to remember always. My hubby & I love to hike & hope to at least get in an hour or so a day, but his parents (82/80) will be in our vehicle, so we will be limited, even though they are in very good health & do love the outdoors! Happy Trails!
