Being Labor Day I cut myself some slack and puttered around the cabin for about 15 minutes too long this morning. Big mistake! I could see the gorgeous reds in the distance as I headed into Yellowstone, but I couldn’t make it here in time to capture them.
This is a spot about a mile from the Madison Junction, and perhaps eight miles from the West Yellowstone entrance. Google Map with the location is here. It’s an interesting area because of how the winding river gives you lots of opportunities for unique compositions.

Wow! Very beautiful.
Thank you, Stanley.

Beautiful. We were up there this weekend and I fell in love with Yellowstone all over again, which happens every time.
Thank you Kathy – Same with me every morning!

Awesome sunrise! We were there in July and didn’t want to leave.
SteveK – I know what you mean. It’s a huge park and always something new to discover.

Am here right now, time is flying please make it stop don’t want to leave in three days
I think it’s the best time to visit. Great weather and the crowds aren’t too bad.

Was ther two weeks ago. Could kick myself for not getting up early enough to see the sunrise!
It can be tough when that alarm goes off.
