Labor Day Sunrise on the Madison River

This morning's Labor Day sunrise over the Madison River.

Being Labor Day I cut myself some slack and puttered around the cabin for about 15 minutes too long this morning. Big mistake! I could see the gorgeous reds in the distance as I headed into Yellowstone, but I couldn’t make it here in time to capture them.

This is a spot about a mile from the Madison Junction, and perhaps eight miles from the West Yellowstone entrance. Google Map with the location is here. It’s an interesting area because of how the winding river gives you lots of opportunities for unique compositions.
