This photo turned out to be a great lesson. I got up very early, as usual, and managed to arrive at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone by 7 a.m.
There are numerous turn-offs at Canyon and this one is called “Grand View”. They made it very easy to park and walk a short distance to get a wonderful view.
This morning was overcast and after snapping this picture I decided it wasn’t going to get any better, so I headed for the nearby gas station. Heading inside for coffee I glanced up and the sky had turned a marvelous orange reflecting off the cloud-cover. It was agonizing to be missing such a display of color and I headed back as quickly as I could, but I wasn’t soon enough. If you are going to get up early for a sunset, always be sure that it is completely over with before heading home.

beautiful snap !!!
