The Western Traveler: November 2008 Edition
A German's diary about his life in the Western United States, where breathtaking national parks meet the spirit of the Wild West.

Your might call it hiking, hill walking, rambling, bushwalking, backpacking, tramping or trekking, and it can be done anywhere. So, why should hiking in the Rocky Mountains be different to hiking anywhere else? As like much in life, hiking it is all about the people!

I love people. I love to meet them, talk to them and get to know them.
However, when it comes to hiking, there is nothing more refreshing than NOT to meet anybody on the trail. And what is more, to see not even a traces of humans while being out there in the wilderness.

This describes the spectacular Wind River Mountains of Wyoming.

Wyoming: It’s the Cowboy State! And, there are no Cowboys without Indians. (That’s what I told myself.) So when I first arrived in Wyoming, I was extremely curious about the Native Americans who live here.
