Yellowstone Geysers Yellowstone geysers are the most famous type of natural wonders - and the area is home to 60% of the world's active geysers. In fact, there are more than 10,000 hot springs and geysers in Yellowstone - all of which are beautifully unique. It's well worth a trip to visit these geysers on your Yellowstone vacation. The most famous geyser in America, Old Faithful, located in Yellowstone draws enormous crowds of people each year. Old Faithful has a dependable schedule that keeps onlookers enchanted with 135-foot eruptions that occur about every 92 minutes.
Other Geothermal Features Yellowstone Park is also home to a number of other geothermal features in addition to geysers, including mud volcanoes, hot springs and steam vents. These unusual sights - and smells! are common to parts of the Yellowstone area but highly uncommon almost anywhere else in the U.S. While some geothermal features can be unpredictable and may keep you waiting to see the show, others are dependable and constantly. Unlike geothermal features, visitors can actually bathe in many of area's hot springs - which often provides a relaxing end to a long day of sightseeing.
