Tucked among spectacular Teton views and national forest land, Grand Targhee Resort is an intimate summer getaway for adventure seekers. Miles of lift-accessed hiking, running, and mountain-biking trails await, plus renowned music festivals and a variety of cultural and outdoor activities in a pristine, high-alpine environment.

see wyoming wildlife
Grizzlies, black bears, mountain lions, elk, and moose make their homes in the mountains around Grand Targhee—just to name a few of the amazing animals that lucky visitors could glimpse. Head over to the Naturalist Center in the main plaza to learn more about the critters and plants you might find in this ecosystem or to get tips on the best hiking and biking trails in the area.

ride the dreamcatcher chairlift on fred’s mountain
Ride the Dreamcatcher Chairlift to nearly 10,000 feet and enjoy the region’s most dramatic views of the Tetons, followed by an al fresco lunch on the main plaza at the base area. The chairlift also accesses downhill biking trails, offering an exhilarating ride back to the base.

go biking
In the summer, the Nordic trails in Rick’s Basin are transformed into a pristine singletrack trail system for cross-country biking. Downhill and XC mountain bikes are available for rent at Teton Mountain Outfitters.

take a hike
Hikers on the Bannock Trail are treated to incredible vistas of Caribou-Targhee National Forest and carpets of native wildflowers. Upon reaching the top of Fred’s Mountain, hikers may take a complimentary trip down on our chairlift. Or explore the trails in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness, designated for its unique karst limestone features, caves, and scenery.

see a music festival at targhee
Acclaimed summer music festivals draw top musicians to a stage beneath the Tetons. The Targhee Music Festival (July 19-21) features an eclectic mix of folk and modern performers while the Targhee Bluegrass Festival (August 9-11) includes the best in finger-picking talent every summer.
