National Park Photo Contest Winners - 2017

By Staff ,

Matt Meisenheimer, Roger Twilley, Tony Prince

In September, we announced the winners of our annual 2017 Tamron and National Park Trips Photo Contest. We received 2,000 entries and a lot of fantastic photos.

The three winners, Roger Twilley, Matt Meisenheimer, and Tony Prince, are all hobbyists—none is a professional photographer by trade—but their images were no accidents. They travel to national parks as often as possible for photography, and they spend countless hours each year honing their craft. We asked them to give us a behind-the-scenes look at how they captured these stunning photos.

These top three photographers were awarded their choice of Tamron lenses, Tamron SP 15-30MM F/2.8 Di VC USD ($1,299 value) or Tamron SP 150-600MM F/5-6.3 Di VC USD ($1,069 value). Their gorgeous photos will be featured in our National Park Journals (Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Rocky Mountain and Yellowstone editions) hitting news stands in late fall through spring.

In addition, 48 honorable mention winners received certificates and are featured on our national park websites.
