Where to Retire magazine recently ranked Cody, Wyoming as one of four U.S. towns ideal for retirement. Pushing Cody to the top were its proximity to Yellowstone National Park, abundance of wildlife and outdoor recreation, a large indoor recreation center, and no state income tax.
Cody is famous for its founding father, Buffalo Bill Cody who's Irma Hotel is still in operation in the center of town. A smithsonian-affiliated museum complex dedicates one of its five museums to Buffalo Bill's life.
Like the famous cowboy, you need to have a rugged, western attitude and the love of the outdoors to live in Cody. So if you wanted to be a cowboy or cowgirl when you were a child, you could make that dream come true by retiring in Cody.
