Ongoing renovations at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel have led to limited lodging for summer 2017. Only cabins will be open to guests, with hotel rooms and most public spaces expected to be available mid-August. The Mammoth Dining Room, Terrace Grill (fast food) and tours are offered as usual throughout the summer.
While the Mammoth cabins, restaurant and Terrace Grill will be open in the summer, Mammoth hotel rooms, public spaces and gift shop will be closed until mid-August 2017. For those travelers who would like to relocated to another park lodge, call the reservations desk at 307-344-7311 immediately. Reservations staff will try to book you at another park property based on available space. They also will offer a 20 percent discount off the rack rate of the alternate room type.
If there are no rooms available or you are not interested in those available, the hotel will refund any deposits paid for the Mammoth Hotel portion of your reservation.
The Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel & Cabins was built in 1936, although there’s an original wing of guest rooms built in 1911. It’s currently undergoing a two-year renovation to update the hotel’s guest rooms, public spaces, expand the ski shop and shuffle administrative offices. In addition, all hotel rooms at the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel will have private bathrooms after its two-year renovation.
The hotel was initially expected to open for the summer 2017 season and stay closed during the 2017 and 2018 winter seasons. The hotel is closed during the winter seasons (December 2016 through February 2017 and December 2017 through February 2018) with limited services available. It also is closed until mid-August 2017 season, except for the cabins, restaurant and Terrace Grill, which will remain open.
Be advised that the hotel renovations to the exterior and interior public spaces will involve construction activity and the staging of materials and equipment around the exterior of the hotel through 2017.
