Visitor Centers & Museums in Yellowstone National Park
There are eight main visitor centers, seven of which are inside Yellowstone. The eighth is in West Yellowstone, Montana near the West Entrance.
Old Faithful Visitor Education Center
Open daily, April to early November. Located 16 miles south of Madison. A backcountry office issues permits.

Canyon Visitor Education Center

Open daily from May to mid-October; 19 miles south of Tower-Roosevelt. Has exhibits on the park’s supervolcano.
Fishing Bridge Museum and Visitor Center

Open daily from late May to late September. Located 27 miles west of the East Entrance. Backcountry offices are nearby at Lake Area and Bridge Bay.
Grant Village Visitor Center
Open daily from late May to late September; on the shore of the West Thumb of Yellowstone Lake. A backcountry office in Grant Village issues permits for camping and other activities.
Madison Information Station
Open daily, late May to late September. Located at Madison Junction, 14 miles from the West Entrance.
Albright Visitor Center at Mammoth

Open daily, year-round, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mammoth Hot Springs, 5 miles from the North Entrance. The Albright Visitor Center underwent renovation during 2014 and is now open with new exhibits.
Norris Area Museums

The Norris Geyser Basin Museum and Museum of the National Park Ranger are open daily, late May to late September. Both are located 21 miles south of Mammoth Hot Springs.
West Yellowstone Visitor Information Center
Open daily, year-round. Located outside the park in the town of West Yellowstone.
