On your first trip to Yellowstone or Grand Teton national parks, it’s always helpful to have a guide. With so many viewpoints, “must-see” stops and things to do, you’d be hard-pressed to experience the very best of either park without an insider’s knowledge.

Scenic Safaris’ guides go through some of the longest training of any Yellowstone or Grand Teton guide company to ensure that they are the best of the best to give you an insider’s perspective on Wyoming’s gorgeous national parks.

Guides know the best spots for wildlife watching

Base your stay out of the fabulous town of Jackson, Wyo., or nearby Teton Village, and Scenic Safaris will pick you up from your hotel for your guided tour.

For a world-class wildlife experience, book the Grand Teton Wildlife Tour. This half-day excursion will bring you out under the majestic Tetons to search for wildlife from a comfortable decked-out van.

“We call the vans ‘Bigfoot’ because they’re so huge,” says marketing manager Katie Brierley. “People recognize them around town – they’re such a fun way to explore the parks.”

Raised tires, massive windows and luxurious interiors ensure you’ll be comfortable and have great views on your half-day tour. Morning tours include breakfast from Creekside Deli and sunset tours include dinner at the beautiful Signal Mountain Lodge in Grand Teton National Park.

While it’s hard to know exactly where wildlife will be, Scenic Safaris’ guides ensure you’ll have the best chance of spotting something from bison to bears to moose. You’ll learn how to search for wildlife on your own and see wildlife up-close with views through the van’s binoculars and spotting scopes.

Head to the nation’s first national park with the full-day Yellowstone Lower Loop Tour. Entering through the South Entrance, your guides will take you to all the iconic sights while you learn about the park. You’ll stop at Old Faithful, Moose and Lewis falls, Kepler Cascades, geyser basins and more. This tour includes breakfast from Creekside Deli and a stop at the Old Faithful area for lunch.

Scenic Safaris ATV tour

The ATV trails in Jackson Hole give you a different perspective.

Or, experience the area surrounding Jackson with a little more adventure on a side by side or ATV tour. You’ll feel the breeze on your face as you explore the National Elk Refuge, Shadow Mountain and the Gros Venture Valley via side by side, a golf-cart-like vehicle that can go both on and off road. Via ATV, you’ll explore the same areas, but with a little more thrill. While you likely won’t see much wildlife with a motor running, you’ll see all the iconic stops. You must be 16 or older with a valid driver’s license to operate an ATV, but kids 8 and older can be a passenger.
