Elephant Head Lodge is a AAA Double Diamond approved, small log-cabin mountain resort located just 11.7 miles East of Yellowstone National Park on the Shoshone National Forest. The lodge and most of our cabins are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Lodge and Cabins
The historical Elephant Head Lodge was started in 1910. The cabins built by Buffalo Bill's niece have been modernized with bathrooms and some with kitchenettes, but retain their original charm. We are family oriented and family run with clean and comfortable cabins.
Our restaurant dining room offers breakfast and dinner off the menu, the option of a sack lunch(s) for the day that awaits you, as well as excellent homemade soups, breads, and desserts.
The Elephant Head Lodge operates a small horse concession and has direct access to the trails on the Shoshone National Forest.
