Eating breakfast can be really special in the dining room at one of Yellowstone National Park’s most iconic hotels, Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. It’s nearly floor-to-ceiling windows let in an extraordinary amount of sunlight and allow you to watch wandering elk and bison on what was once the parade grounds of the original Fort Yellowstone.

With locally-sourced food and sustainably harvested coffee, you’ll discover Rainforest Alliance Dark Roast coffee on the menu along with Montana-made items. On the a la carte menu, there are items like a bagel with farm-raised and house-smoked trout and seven grain buttermilk pancakes made with Montana Grains. If you are really wanting to fuel up for a big hike in the park, consider the hearty and healthy breakfast buffet that’s “all you care to eat." There are separate prices for adults and children.

The Mammoth Dining Room is Yellowstone concessionaire Xanterra’s first-certified green restaurant and Wyoming’s first 3-Star Certified (out of four stars) restaurant. To earn this rating, restaurant staff had to and continues to source local and organic cuisine, use LED lights and water-saving devices, recycle and compost, eco-friendly cleaning products, among other things.

Breakfast is served 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. No reservations are accepted for breakfast, so seating is first-come, first-seated. Like breakfast, dinner reservations are not accepted during the summer time.
